Foundations in Accountancy
Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) is the perfect starting point for a career in accounting and finance.
[If you complete the diploma through Foundations in Accountancy route, you can transfer to the ACCA qualification, miss out on F1, F2, & F3 exams, and continue your studies from F4 onwards!]
To develop the knowledge and ability to apply appropriate management accounting concepts and foundations in accountancy techniques for decision making, planning and control including forecasting techniques, the preparation of budgets and standard costs and performance measurement.
To develop knowledge and understanding of the underlying principles and concepts relating to financial accounting and to demonstrate technical proficiency in the use of double entry techniques, including the preparation and interpretation of basic financial statements for sole traders, companies and simple groups of companies.
The FiP is aimed at accountants who may be starting out on their careers, or at those who have been working for many years, but who have not yet qualified as professional accountants. The FiP is focused at those working in any sector: the private sector, the corporate sector, the public sector, in financial services or for those working within financial shared service centers and BPOs.
FAB + FMA + FFA + FiP = Diploma in Accounting & Business
[The qualification structure requires candidates who wish to be awarded a diploma in Accounting and Business to pass the FAB, FMA, and FFA examinations and successfully complete the Foundations in Professionalism module.]
The Foundations in Accountancy course is an entry-level series of awards and has no formal academic entry requirements. This means you can register to take exams for any FIA award at any level.
Membership to ACCA
A subscription fee is charged in addition to the initial registration fee in your first year as an ACCA student if you register before 8 May and are therefore eligible to sit at both the June and December exam sessions. Thereafter the annual subscription fee is due and payable on 1 January each year you wish to remain an active student.
